- A form for scoring a 3 game lawn bowlling tournament - Jackie Fyfe Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 16:19:06 (EDT)
(Responses: 2)
I am looking for a form which could be downloaded to aid in scoring a 3 game tournament. We usually are using 6 or 8 rinks. Three games are played It seems every time we get to that 3rd. game we run into difficulty - usually putting 2 teams together who have already played together or ending up on the same rink they had previously played on. This happened yesterday - the form we have been using for many years I fear is outdated andd there must be any easier way of do......

Would anyone know where to pick up a cheapish second hand bowling arm in the UK. I've been tasked with finding one for a bowls friend who recently had an accident making it very difficult for him to play at all, this is unfortunate as he loves the game. I'm inquiring about second hand because to buy new is prohibitively expensive and although he would pay the £100 plus for the bowling arm I would much rather see that that he be able to continue to play without having to ......

Hi,I have just moved up from 4H to 5H Tiger woods but my brand new bowls have a different size and style of grip from my old ones! I have used Tigers for about 18 months and loved the deep and sharp grip of my old bowls and feel cheated to find that my 'identical' new bowls have a redesigned grip which is much narrower and less deep!
The blurb that came with the woods says that the grip is a Series C Grip. Does anyone know what this means and if this bowl comes wi......

(Responses: 4)
Hello all,I have been given many moons ago four wooden bowls balls. I don't bowl and was going to throw them away during a recent garage sort out. However it seems such a waste and thought of selling them on e-bay. They say 'bias No 3', 'set 4' 're-turned by Jaques' and 'London' on each of them, numbered from 1 to 4.
Should I throw them away or will they sell?
any advice gratefully received,
thanks,

- Can you help - Roger Monday, August 15, 2005 at 17:05:56 (EDT)
(Responses: 1)
I have recently been left by a relative a large box of bowls badges, most of the badges are instantly recognisable to different counties and clubs but I am stumped by two. They have the words scott bowls club written on them, they have the same horse as the kent county badge and a english and american flag on them, can anyone give me information on these bagdes as I would be interested in there history especially as one of the bagdes celebrates sixty years 1932-1992.

The answer to winning games is simple, just score more than your opposition. I know you are aware of this already, however how can a player know before the match how many shots are required to win?
Well I have been analysing Denny Cup results this season and noticed a trend, of the 238 games played so far this season only 7 teams had lost when they had scored 80 or more shots, 2 of these on the extra end. The same pattern was seen in previous years too, so as a team ......

I am a film producer who is working on a script about bowling. You may have seen (or not judging by the box office takings) Mel Smiths film called Blackball which is currently showing. Rather dire but as a fellow film producer I will resist further comment.I admit bowling is a new subject to me and I wanted to hear from those that know the difference between CROWN and LAWN bowling. I know about the shape and contours of the greens but I am looking for any and all d......

(Responses: 2)
Does any one find that people follow the ettiquette of the game of bowls anymore? Over the last few weeks I have played teams that have been very rude and done things like moving around whilst I am on the mat, shouting for wicks and shouting to make my bowls keep away from the head. These were older women that should know better!
I hope ettiquette is not dying. What does everyone else think?

(Responses: 6)
I am looking for a second hand set of 4 "tyrolite" bowls. These bowls were made by Taylor Rolph many years ago and have not been made for several years.I play the short mat game and found there late swing a great advantage to come round a bowl. My original set has 3 cracked bowls, which was a common problem with them. The set I am looking for is a size 5" with the crest grips and must be in very good condition.
Many Thanks

(Responses: 1)
My Club wishes to replace our existing Clubhouse (nearly 70 years old !)at a cost of approx £55,000. We have raised almost 50% of this sum through various Club functions and a members loan scheme will provide a further £20,000. However, we have a shortfall of £8/10,000 and I wonder if anyone can suggest organisations who would consider providing either donations or low interest loans.
Any communication will be promptly answered.

- Crown Green - Nathony Callock Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at 11:58:45 (EDT)
(Responses: 3)
What a shambles crown green is when you compare it to level green. People wearing what they want, normally scruffy jeans and flat caps. They look like darts players. They should be down a dog track rather than on a bowls green.Bowls going everywhere, this is really the poor mans version of the game isnt it? Mind you that's why its not played much in the south, where we have elegance, demur and know how to conduct ourselves. Crown Green, rubbish game!
