Simple League Results Compiler

To use this program you need to enter (once only) some basic information, which will be used to create a framework for your on-going results.

Once this is done, you save the page it creates on your own computer (using file/save as). The file is saved with the basic format and data. Then, each week, when you have logged-on, the process is simple:

1. use file/open to bring the last saved page into your browser.
2. enter the results from the score cards.
3. submit the page; (the updated results appear on your screen, with the teams/players sorted - current winners at top)
4. save the new file to your computer (using file/save as). It includes the updated information.
5. print the page for display in your club.

Ok! Now for some basic information: (you need only do this once)

Name Club : (this will be your Page Header)

Name of League : (this will be your Page sub-header)

Any other permanent information for top of first page: (limit 160 characters)

Up to five digit file name: (perhaps div1). This will become div1_01.htm for the first week or period and div1_02.htm for the second, etcetera.)
(This program will do one league. If you intend to run it for more than one league, you should ensure that the file names are different, so that you don't accidentally overwrite a file.)

How often do you make calculations and print a return?:
The entered word(s) will be used in your report, ie - if you enter 'Week' it will be used as: Week Ending or Week Number or This Week (The word 'Period' will be used in default)

If you are starting this program after the start of the season, you will need to enter accumulated scores to-date, or run it for each week consecutively until you catch up.
(NB. Unless you particularly want a printout of the missing weeks, it will be quicker to enter the accumulated scores.)

If you have entered a 'Player' list above, you may be running a league where rinks are drawn at random on the match day, but players are awarded points according to how their team performed, and these points are accumulated to find a winning player at the end of the season. Rather than put in all the scores each week, you can use a shortcut and just enter the points scored for each player. To do this, click this box: If you choose this option, and you should not complete OR CHANGE (!) the rest of this form. Just scroll down and submit it. When a match is a team match played between two of the teams, how many rinks is it played on? (We need to create a 'shots for' and 'shots against' column for each card - so please leave as '1' if your list is for individual players)	Rinks #?
Do you operate a points system? If so please complete these boxes: (The program will assume that points are shared for a draw, on each rink and also for a drawn aggregate.) By 'aggregate' we mean if a team wins by 5 shots on one rink and loses by four shots on a second rink, they have won the aggregate by 1 shot. Are points awarded for this? If so, tell us how many.	How many points for:
	winner (each rink)?
	aggregate?
OK - lets just run through that, to make sure we understand each other :-) Here is an example, which assumes that you have entered '2' in each of the three boxes above: A team (a) plays another (b) on two rinks. There will be 6 points 'up for grabs' (a) wins on both rinks - it scores 6 points (two for each rink win and two for the aggregate. (b) scores 0. (a) wins on one rink but its overall score is less than (b)'s - The teams divide the points (a) gets 2, but b gets 4, two for its win and 2 for the aggregate. (a) draws with (b) on one rink, but loses on the other. (a) gets 1 point, the other 5 going to team (b) which has a draw, a win and the aggregate. (a) draws with (b) on both rinks and they get 3 points each. One for each rink draw and one for the drawn aggregate.

OK - that is about it. Of course clubs have different ways of scoring. We have tried to think this through, but no doubt someone out there will have a different scoring method. If so, let me know and we will add it to the list below.

Please select a method of calculation from these options, and then submit: NB. For 1) and 2) the program will assume that the points or wins score takes precedence over the shots difference, which will only be used as a decider if teams or players score the same points. Use Points, decide equal Points with Shots won/lost difference. Use Wins, Draws decide equal Wins, Draws with Shots won/lost difference. Use Shots won/lost difference, decide equal Shots with number of Wins, Draws.
