HOW TO USE THE LAWN BOWLS OPINIONS BOARD

The Opinions Board operates on a similar principle to the Bulletin, Computer Discussion, Opinions and Technical Boards, but is intended to act as a sounding board for problems or improvements to the site. Responses by the site manager will be added to the related message.

To make it easy to find a topic you can either scroll through the subjects covered by clicking on the blue 'Read' button, or Search the board by clicking on the 'Search' button. Having found a topic heading which interests you, you can click on that heading to read the related text and follow-up submissions.

The board may be searched for any word or combination of words, to speed up the process of locating a topic which may already have been started. Please check this before starting a new conversation.

You can add a NEW topic of conversation by clicking on the blue ADD button. The entry fields are:-

NAME Enter your own name

E-MAIL Enter your own e-mail address

SUBJECT Enter a short subject heading which clearly describes what your message is about.

MESSAGE You have more or less a free hand here to say what you want, but the list is monitored to remove anything which is distastful or blatently advertising. As a retailer, you have FREE advertising in the SHOPPING MALL so please keep it there! You may add a URL if it is helpful and in keeping with the discussion. For instance, if the discussion is about Name Badges and you know of (or are) a reliable supplier, you might usefully add their e-mail address or Web page URL

OPTIONAL LINK URL If you have a Web Page you can enter its URL here. This is one 'sneaky' way to advertise on the discussion board . . we aren't totally hard-hearted ! This site (for lawnbowls) would be entered: http://lawnbowls.com, but you would use your own URL of course!

LINK TITLE This is the text which will be highlighted as a link to the URL. It will be ignored if there is no link entered. You might put 'my site' and it will be displayed like this: my site so that when someone clicks on it they will be taken to your site which you have entered as the link URL. (You can try this one, it will bring you back here although you might find your page has shifted a bit! Watch the address line on your screen when you move your pointer over it. In Netscape this is at the bottom of the screen)

OPTIONAL IMAGE URL You can also enter an image source for display. Please keep it small ! (Max width 105pixels x height 49pixels)

Anyone wishing to follow up a subject with further comment must first click on it to open the SUBJECT page and read it. You will then be able to scroll through the responses and can add your own response if you wish. In order to make the board easy to follow, NEW subjects are posted from the MAIN BOARD page and shown on that page with a few lines of the text; and comments on an EXISTING subject are added to the SUBJECT page. You can add URLs within the text, provided they have a clear relationship to the conversation in progress. If you have another point to make which has no real bearing on an existing subject, please enter it as a NEW subject.

FAQS (Frequently Asked Questions) may answer the queries you have about the board

You can have the postings to the board e-mailed to you as they occur, therefore not missing any postings.
