Realise this is easily done, drawing names out of a hat or whatever, but sometimes get lost when deciding how many byes needed or how many need to play a preliminary round to bring the number down to 16. Is there a table I could use?

- Bowls marking - S.R.Hancock Wednesday, March 03, 2004 at 06:47:03 (EST)
(Responses: 2)
I remember from my teens ,some years ago on crown green, that the bowls
were marked with their actual bias and had an indentation on the bias side .This made purchase much easier and the indentation reduced the number of wrong bias deliveries a great deal .
I appreciate that it must be more economical when producing bowls , not to have to test and mark them , but , it would appear to be a retrograde step .
What do you think ?

Hello everybody.I have a question regarding bowls uniform. If for example you had a bad back and wore a back support(which was white in colour) would it be legal to wear this over your bowls shirt(on the outside). In the rule book nothing is mentioned about the issue.
Ps I live in Australia

Could I suggest you identify yourself and your location ie., country or city, somewhere on the home page. Have been at the site for about 4 mins but still cannot work out whether you are located in Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland or anywhere else lawn bowls is played. I really do not have the time to browse for too long as I am forced to use a computer in a public library and can only use machine for a short time. Good luck with your site however. GC

Do you have the facility to erase articles off the Bulletin Board? The reason I am asking is because I always view the articles from my work PC, which has a 'FireWall' someone must have posted an answer with an article of a sexual nature because the firewall is banning me from veiwing. If you have the facility please remove the article so I can continue to read your site. Thank You

Carpet Bowls is a sport in it's right. It is played on carpets 30 foot long and 6 foot wide, made from the same materials as used for indoor rinks. We have our own National Association, and a number of County Associations. It is not the "Home indoor" game played in the living room.
Please contact me for information should you wish.
